Today Sailors were off the Audi Hamilton Island Airport Racetrack and back on to the sailing track for Day 5 of Hamilton Island Race Week Regatta. Both the Dent Passage and Cats Eye Bay Eastern Start lines were used for different divisions, spreading the entire regatta fleet throughout the Whitsunday islands. Andrew short’s Shockwave-Club Marine got off to a great start and led the field for the entire course through to the finish line, taking a line honors victory in the IRC Grand Prix.

The Australian Sailing team returned from Beijing China to Hamilton Island Australia where they will enjoy the comforts of there team sponsorship from Hamilton Island at the new qualia resort. After a short media conference the team were shuttled to the resort by Audi Q7′s to relax for a while before their hosted dinner this evening at the Hamilton Island Outrigger. Tomorrow following the Whitehaven Beach party the entire yachting fraternity on Hamilton island will get to applaud the Australian Sailing Team’s efforts in a ticker tape parade at the resorts marina.
